Hookstown Fair
Queen Program
Is to promote
greater public understanding and awareness of agriculture and
its importance to Pennsylvania.
The 2011 Fair
Queen will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for the purpose of
higher education and will participate in many of the activities
at the fair.
She also will
represent the Hookstown Fair at the Pennsylvania State Fair
Convention in January, as well as other events to which she may
be invited throughout her reign.

Each
Fair Queen Contestant must |
| 1. |
Be
a female who is a U.S. citizen and a resident of
Pennsylvania. |
| 2. |
Be
at least age 16, but no older than 20, years of age as
of June 1, 2011. |
| 3. |
Have
not been a former local Fair Queen winner, nor a former
State Fair Queen contestant. |
| 4. |
Not
hold any other title for any other commodity group or
pageant during her reign. |
| 5. |
Have
her parent(s)' or gaurdian(s)' consent to enter the
competition. |
| 6. |
Be
single, have never been married, have not been pregnant
nor given birth to a child. |
| 7. |
Act
in accordance with the PA Fair Queen "Behavior
Policy"
|
| 8. |
Meet
all time commitments, Queen obligations and Dress Code
as set forth by the Hookstown Fair. |
As part of the
competition, each contestant is required to write an essay
titled "What My Fair Means to My Community" and
present a three to five minute speech on "Why You Should
Come to the Hookstown Fair."

Fair Queen
Contest - 2011
|
|
Young ladies will compete for the
2011 Hookstown Fair
Queen title. The
winner will be crowned during the opening ceremony of
the fair in the main arena at
5 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 23.
|
Stephanie
Moore, the 2010 Hookstown Fair Queen,
will crown this year’s queen.
She is the daughter of Todd and Lisa Moore
of
Greene Township.
She is
a student at
South Side
High School
and plans to attend a college to become a Speech Therapist for
mentally challenged children.

Auberly Berringer (17)
Daughter of Scott and Joy Berringer
of Hanover Twp. She attends South Side High
School. Her future plans are to work in a field
that involves Agricultural Science. |

Emily Jo Johnston (17)
Daughter of Steve and Jacque
Johnston of Hanover Twp. She attends South side
High School. Plans are to attend a college of
her choice to pursue a degree in Psychology. |

Kelsey Winkle (19)
Daughter of Anthony and Donna Winkle of
Hanover Twp. She attends Thiel College majoring in
Psychology and plans to continue school to receiver her
masters in school counseling.
